Music previews & licensing
Short clips for gameplay. Not full tracks.
GuessBeat uses short preview APIs and embeddable video so friends can guess songs together. We do not offer full-track streaming, downloads, or offline libraries.
Above-the-fold honesty
- Gameplay only. Previews exist so you can identify a song in a quiz round — not to replace a music subscription.
- Short clips. Typical previews are on the order of tens of seconds (often around 30 seconds), or an embeddable music video when that is the available format.
- No affiliation. GuessBeat is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify, Apple, Deezer, YouTube, Jamendo, MusicBrainz, or other catalog providers.
- Rights stay with owners. Recordings, compositions, artwork, and trademarks remain the property of their respective rights holders.
Where previews come from
Each round can pull from merged legal sources depending on availability and your filters: Spotify preview URLs, Deezer previews, Apple iTunes Search previews, optional Jamendo tracks, optional YouTube embeds, and MusicBrainz metadata to discover titles. We only queue tracks that actually expose a short preview or an embeddable video — which is why not every song in the world appears.
If a provider changes APIs, terms, or availability, the mix on GuessBeat may change. Fallback clips keep a match moving when a particular preview fails.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or redistribute full audio files.
- We do not grant you a license to download or rehost tracks outside the game.
- We do not claim ownership of third-party catalogs or artist brands.

Takedown & rights requests
If you believe content in the Service infringes your rights, email contact@guessbeat.com with enough detail for us to locate the material (round context, approximate time, track identifiers if known). We may remove or disable access where appropriate.
