Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how GuessBeat (the "Service", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you play the game, visit our site, or participate in leaderboards, streaks, or prize programs.
GuessBeat is operated by Asetral, an online software brand and distributed development team (you may also see us as Asetral Software or Asetral Studios on some platforms). For questions about this Service, contact contact@guessbeat.com. For operator or imprint matters, see the Imprint section or email contact@asetral.com.
In-game chat and room codes
Multiplayer rooms may include optional text chat. Messages are processed so we can deliver them to other players in the same room. Do not post personal data, unlawful material, or harassing content. We may store chat for a limited time for abuse prevention and service operation; we are not responsible for what other players write. Public rooms are visible in a lobby list — only enable "public" if you are comfortable with others seeing your room metadata (host display name, filters summary, player counts).
1. Information we collect
- Account and profile data. If you create an optional account, we may collect your display name, email address, and basic profile settings used for leaderboards, streaks, and rewards.
- Gameplay data. We may collect information about the rooms you join or host, your guesses, scores, streaks, and how you interact with different game modes.
- Contact and support data. If you contact us, we process the information you choose to share (for example, your name, email, and message).
- Subscription and marketing data. If you subscribe to updates, we collect your email address and your marketing preferences.
- Technical and usage data. Like most online services, we may collect log data, device information, approximate location (based on IP address), cookies, and similar technologies to keep the Service secure and improve performance. When we enable analytics, usage events (for example pages or screens viewed) may be processed by our analytics provider as described in our Cookies notice.
2. How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service and its game features.
- To create and maintain optional accounts, streaks, scoreboards, and prizes.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To send you emails about new features, playlists, tournaments, and offers when you have subscribed or otherwise given any required consent. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. Legal bases (EU/UK and similar laws)
Where laws like the GDPR apply, we rely on the following legal bases to process personal data: (a) performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), (b) our legitimate interests (for example, to keep the Service secure and to understand usage), (c) your consent for certain marketing or optional features, and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
4. Sharing of information
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us run the Service, only to the extent reasonably necessary for them to provide their services to us. This may include:
- Hosting and delivery (for example, Vercel for the website and our API hosting provider) to serve pages, APIs, and static assets.
- Realtime gameplay — our game servers process room codes, scores, optional in-room chat, and technical logs needed to run multiplayer sessions.
- Account storage — when you register, account data may be stored using Supabase or equivalent database hosting we configure for the Service.
- Google Analytics — Google LLC processes usage analytics under its own terms (see our Cookies notice).
- Formspree — contact form submissions are forwarded so we can receive your message by email.
- Google Forms — if you subscribe to updates, your email may be recorded in a Google Form we use to manage our mailing list.
We may also share information when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public. We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
The Service may be operated from different countries. If your data is transferred internationally, we use reasonable safeguards designed to protect it in accordance with applicable law (for example, contractual protections where required).
6. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate and lawful purposes (such as record keeping, security, or legal obligations). We may keep aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, California, or Turkey), you may have rights such as: access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to certain processing, portability of your data, and the right to withdraw consent for marketing at any time. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us at contact@guessbeat.com.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for children under the age where they can lawfully provide consent to online services in their country (for example, 13 or 16). We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by updating the "last updated" date or showing a notice in the Service). If you have questions, contact us at contact@guessbeat.com.
Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of GuessBeat. GuessBeat is operated by Asetral, an online software brand and distributed development team. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
GuessBeat is an online music guessing game that lets you play alone or with friends, including multiplayer rooms, scoreboards, streaks, and prize or reward features that we may introduce from time to time. We may update or change features at any time.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction to use the Service. Creating an account is optional; you can play as a guest, but some features (like persistent profiles, streaks, scoreboards, or prizes) may require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Acceptable use
- Use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes.
- Do not cheat, manipulate scores, or interfere with fair play for others.
- Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or any underlying APIs.
- Do not upload or share illegal, infringing, harmful, or abusive content, or attempt to compromise the security of the Service or other users.
4. Intellectual property
We own or license all rights in and to the Service, including the game design, branding, code, and UI. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal entertainment in accordance with these Terms. All music tracks and artwork remain the property of their respective rights holders. Short previews are for gameplay only — see Music previews & licensing.
5. Leaderboards, streaks, and prizes
We may offer leaderboards, streak tracking, and prize programs. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel such features at any time. We may disqualify users or adjust scores where we reasonably suspect cheating, abuse, or other violations of these Terms.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that the Service will meet your expectations.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will be limited to the amount you paid us for the Service (if any) in the 12 months before the claim arose.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Asetral as operator of the Service, except where mandatory consumer protection or other non-waivable rules in your country of residence require otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to bring claims before the courts that have jurisdiction under applicable law.
9. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective means you accept them.
10. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms or the Service, you can contact us at contact@guessbeat.com.
